Winvian Farm and Lime Rock Race Track Partner to Launch Women at the Wheel Retreat

Ladies, Start Your Engines....

Winvian Farm, the AAA Five-Diamond hotel in Connecticut's Litchfield Hills, has officially declared 2018 the Year of the Woman, launching the Women at the Wheel program, beginning April 21. Women at the Wheel will showcase a partnership between Winvian Farm and the nearby Lime Rock Park race track in Lakeville. The two-day retreat will include a private, half-day race car driving lesson with one of Lime Rock’s top instructors, most of whom have coached some of the world’s champion racecar drivers.

After a day on the race track, women can enjoy the luxury amenities at the Relais & Chateaux hotel. Guests may select body and facial treatments at the 5,000-square-foot spa, eat in Winvian Farm's award-winning restaurant, relax poolside, or go hiking through the neighboring White Memorial Conservation Center.

Included in the two-day retreat are accommodations in one of Winvian Farm’s 19 accommodations (18 of which are private cottages), one three-course dinner for two, a bottle of champagne upon arrival, and one half-day private racing lesson at Lime Rock Park.

The Orange Gild Bed & Breakfast

We were happy to sell this fixer upper to our clients who were moving here from Holland. Especially because the property is around the corner from our house and was a real eyesore. The Het Lams have completely renovated the home from top to Bottom and are opening the Orange Guild B&B on memorial Day weekend! Since they are just launching now, they have rooms available all Summer, when everywhere else is surely booked. It's a great location and the rooms look fresh and inviting. Congratulations Ron and Marian and welcome to Washington!

They have some special offerings besides lodging which are referenced on their web site: "The Orange Gild can provide you with painting workshops in the open air: enjoy outdoor painting in the Lichtfield Hills, whether it's a typical white New England church on the green, a cool American urban city streetscene, or just a magnificent landscape in a National's all possible in this gorgeous region of Connecticut that has inspired many creative people."

The Orange Gild is also the home of floral artist Marian who is an Advanced Dutch Floral Designer and certified Wally Klett Wedding Specialist. From time to time they organize floral design workshops. Theirspeciality is flower design in the more experimental style that is currently very popular in Europe.
